OASIS OF THE SEAS Making Her Way To Her New Home
Posted Sat, Nov 7th 2009, 20:51Captain Bill Wright continues his video journal of Royal Caribbean's OASIS OF THE SEAS journey across the stormy North Atlantic. The ship which has faced some heavy weather was forced to reduce speed and will arrive in North America two days behind schedule.
Captain Wright was very complimentary of the ships seakeeping abilities while encountering winds approaching hurricane force, and seas of 40 feet. Onboard musicians, singers, dancers continued their practices and contractors were finishing up on their work in anticipation of the ships inaugural voyages.
Royal Caribbean, which it's name may imply cruises only in the Caribbean, is actually a world wide company with ships deployed all over the world. When this occurs, there is bound to be times when guests who do not speak English sail with the line. RCI has addressed this issue with a special program called International Ambassadors which is designed to aid the international guest and make them feel more comfortable onboard their ships.
Crew members who are serving as International Ambassadors are fluent in several different languages. Besides that, they also study the cultural nuances, traditions and customs which contribute to making the international guest more comfortable and make sure their onboard experience is more enjoyable.
The program also provides an element of security in that the guest understands completely the safety procedures and makes certain that in case of emergency they know what to do and where to go.
