Swine Flu And A Longer Cruise
Carnival Cruise Line communicated to travel agents today that itinerary adjustments would be made on the popular CARNIVAL ECSTASY which sails from Galveston TX and others in the fleet which normally make ports of call in Mexico.
In the statement issued by Carnival, 4 and 5 days cruises departing Galveston through May 11 would be changed to 7 day cruises departing May 2 and May 9. Stops will now include Grand Cayman and Montego Bay. The great news in this terrible swine flu saga is that the 5 day rate will be protected. In other words, guests will get a 7 day cruise for the price of a 5 day.
In regard to air travel adjustments, Carnival states the following:
For guests that purchased air transportation from Carnival, we will adjust the return flight
arrangements and provide you with this information. For guests with independent air
arrangements, we will reimburse airline change fees up to $150 per person (with
documentation) for guests sailing on the 7 day cruises.
For those who might not be interested in the altered cruise itinerary Carnival will provide them with a full refund; or a future cruise credit in the amount they paid for this cruise and they can sail anythime prior to December 31, 2010.
